Under every process, the system shows the status of all steps that have been run or are pending. This updated version also includes a new rollback feature. The system also produces extensive audit trail and batch scheduling capabilities. The principal benefits of the updated version are:
  • Non-systems personnel can run and schedule these processes.
  • All process statuses are visible and intuitive.
  • A rollback feature is provided at every step throughout every process.
  • An extensive and easy to read audit trail has been provided.
BenXL has announced the release of its new Plan Setup Parameter Handling Mechanism. This is intended to ease installation into a client’s production environment. Clients now have the option of storing individual plan provisions in a self-contained database independent of the employee and employer database. This feature helps maintain different plans in an isolated secured environment, thus ensuring the integrity of all other plans. This also helps elevate a new plan into a client’s production environment without adversely affecting the production database. The process is now as easy as moving application script (bdts). Some other benefits of this new feature include:
  • Increased productivity - the developer can customize a new plan without connectivity to the test or production database.
  • Copying files will now automatically create backups.
  • Better response time - the system does not have to access the database from the data server; instead it resides locally on the application server.
  • Maintains global information in one place.
BenXL was recently retained to conduct an operational review of a large TPA’s current pension administration processes and systems. The goal of the project was to determine their efficiency in meeting customer expectations and achieving the TPA’s business goals. The principal criteria against which current processes and systems were evaluated included: speed, accuracy, adaptability and the ease of updating, resource requirements, integration and scalability. The BenXL project team drafted a highlight summary of findings. The particular emphasis of these findings was on areas warranting further study and/or immediate attention to support existing customers and future growth. The final document included:
  • Analysis of if and how current processes differed from industry "best-practices."
  • A description of shortcomings of current processes and procedural methods.
  • Recommended solutions and their expected benefits.
  • Determination of whether BenXL and other software had been implemented properly to respond to the TPA’s business requirements.
  • A description of enhancements and modifications to the existing software.
