A key component in offering our products is to understand what services are required at various stages in the solution implementation process. As part of our organizational configuration, BenXL is geared to offer services and consultation that touch every part of the value chain.

Our services are consultative and available on an as-needed basis, so clients can make selective use of our entire range of services as a part of the overall implementation program.

Maintenance and Support

BenXL is committed to providing the best possible solution to each of our client’s unique needs. Whether it is ongoing maintenance on a fee basis or a quick answer to any question you may have. We are here to assist you in any maintenance and support issues. Our offices are open M-F 8:30am to 5:30pm.

All queries are classified as enhancements, changes, or defects.

Enhancement

A new, undefined part of the system needs to be programmed. Change – An aspect of the system is not working properly. This aspect of the system was not thoroughly defined in the working specifications. Defect – An aspect of the system is not working properly. This aspect of the system was thoroughly defined in the working specifications.

BenXL will classify the changes according to the categories spelled out in the Issue Resolution Capabilities document. Depending on the severity of the defect, it will be corrected per the time schedule in this document. For changes and enhancements, BenXL will provide a cost estimate for the client’s approval. Upon the approval of this cost, BenXL will implement these changes according to severity.

Training

Our training services include basic operational training as well as technical training; however, we are extremely flexible in delivering the right amount and type of training based on our client’s needs. Each case is unique. Training is typically done after installation and before the cilent’s first phase of testing. It can be conducted either on the client’s site or at BenXL facilities.

BenXL has four different types of classes:

System use This is a two-day class that is held with the users of the system. All features are reviewed in a hands-on environment.

BenXL tools (basic) This three-day class is designed for the individuals responsible for setting up and converting plans into the BenXL system (typically TPA’s). The objective of this class is to have individuals use the BenXL development tool to program calculations, understand the functionality of the various business objects and understand the development environment.

BenXL tools (advanced) This three-day class is for individuals who will be developing complete applications (TPA). The objective of this class is to have individuals be able to use the BenXL tools to modify existing BenXL applications, create new applications and understand how all the various pieces of applications and database fit together.

Technical staff training This is a one-day class that is held with the technical staff responsible for installing the BenXL system and any new releases or updates.

Documentation

Additionally, the BenXL package includes a complete User Manual for each of our systems. This comes complete with all standard features as well as appendices for any client-specific customizations.

There are several types of documentation that are included in the cost. They are installation guides, a plan setup manual, and a user manual. If there is additional documentation that is needed, BenXL will create these at additional cost.

Installation Guides – These documents provide step-by-step instructions on how to install the BenXL system and files.

Plan Setup Manual – Documentation on provisions used to set up a plan, system variables, creation of forms and reports, etc.

User Manual – Documentation on processes and activities performed by the user. All activities, batch processes, extract and listing creation, valuation extract and reconciliation, trustee reconciliation, ad hoc COLA, and reports are explained.
